ITACA Project FP7 – End User Workshop

On March 27-29, 2014 in Palermo (Sicily, Italy), NAIS was attended to Project ITACA (Innovation Technologies and Applications for Coastal Archaeological sites) End User Workshop that has seen people coming from different Countries (e.g. Australia, Denmark, Greece, Israel, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Tunisia).

Several End Users, among which archaeologists, decision makers and researchers, took part to the Workshop. They met in Palermo at the Conference Hall of the Sicilian Regional Department for Underwater archaeological sites (Soprintendenza del Mare – Via Lungarini, 9) to discuss with the Project Team about the solutions that ITACA will offer using Optical and SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite images for recognizing, monitoring and managing underwater archaeological sites.

The three-day Workshop has been dedicated to partners internal discussion (first day), presentations and discussion with the End Users (second day) and a field trip to the Punic ship Museum and to the Motia isle (the ancient Phoenician city located in front of Trapani).
